When I first heard it I knew it was amazing... From the first few seconds... I thought OMG what is this I have to have it.
Lucky for me James Penrose aka Casionova of Magic Waves and Intergalactic FM hooked me up saying "that Nemesy LP is about the rarest thing in the world but luckily for both of us Flemming (Dalum) has it and also the singles off it"
The "Sacrifice Version" has to be my favorite because it has this amazing spitting sound over the whole track.
It was released in 1985 in italy on 'Boot Legs' after possible signing to EMI - Nemesy aka Marco Carluccioa & Johnny Pizzuto (keys and vocals) collaborated with a Paolo Bocchi - from google translations on Nemesy myspace (where you can also see photos of his daughter modeling for D&G and himself scuba diving!!) I have gained this information. The 'I wanna dance' single in 1984 was a big hit across Europe and then in 2006 he was on a complation put together by none other than the person who I eventually got this track from Flemming Dalum!
I feel it would be too easy to let you download it from here - after some people's massive struggle to get this track. So only if you are a real enthusiast you should email one of the Pearl Flash crew pearlflash [at] live.com to convince us you need it.

Ce Porte

Kerrier district is one of Luke Vibert's other alias's. Ce Porte, featured on Kerrier District 2, released in 2006, has grabbed me with its infectious bassline, cool pads, and THAT riff.
I was enlightened to this song (and a few others) by our latest addition to Pearl Flash, Bergas. Coming out of Jakarta to the UK via New York, Bergas is a great DJ, record collector, and friend. I played with him at the Bali edition of Pearl Flash back in August, and he'll be joining us once again at the next one on November 6th at ? Bar, and also another party coming soon (which will be announced very shortly!)
Bergas sent out some waves the other week on Deepfrequency.com, if you missed it, you can check it out in the archives here (Look for October 16th)

Ragazza Part 2

Having been listening to Jackpot on repeat last weekend, i'm finding it difficult to work out whether i prefer Inflagranti's take on 'Ragazza' (featured on the B side of Greased Lightning) over the Original. The minute and a half build up at the start really does it for me though...You decided!

BeNe GeSSeRiT - Nobody Can Know
Though Todd of Dalston Oxfam Shop I found kassettentäter...
A group from Germany who collected and compiled a bunch of mainly german underground music with more recognisable stuff including favorite D.A.F. - One song in particular ironically named "Nobody Can Know" I wanted more of but have still not been able to find. The band is called Bene Gesserit which is a name stolen from Frank Herbert's science fiction 'Dune universe'.

Through my research on this band I found they are from Trazegnies, Belgium, lead by Alain Neffe now 60, apparently a prominent and legendary member of the belgian industrial scene and also including Nadine Bal.
Alain Neffe has or did have a record label called INSANE which includes bands: Human Flesh ,BeNe GeSSeRiT, the Chopstick Sisters, Subject , I Scream , Japanese Genius , Human Dance , The Other Side Of Human Flesh , Cortex and Pseudo Code.
The INSANE myspace says: "Several of these bands are still active musically ,mostly releasing music on other labels ...used to release vinyls and compilations cassettes in the 80's (some of the releases are still available) and you should contact Alain Neffe" if you want them... so I did. I wonder if I'll hear back.
Although good old Mutant Sound gave me a couple of albums when searching kassettentäter I couldn't find any BeNe GeSSeRiT Discogs has a list of the releases by BeNe GeSSeRiT and they also have a rather low-fi website where I found Neffe's email address.

Perhaps all the Cassettes were destroyed... After all the translation for kassettentäter is Cassette destroyer.
One song I did find was this Le Saucisson (click to download).
For more from the collection listen on the various kassettentäter myspace pages & Bene Gesserit Myspace

Old Nu Disco?

These boys were way ahead of their time. Check how fresh this beast of a track sounds. Now consider this was made by a swede (Gleen Asp) and an Italian (Marcello Donatello) way back in 1983, yes, 1983!
Jackpot, have now only been exposed recently, releasing on Service and Permanent Vacation this year. So why so late? Apparently, Jackpot were trying to press records of a narcotic solution in a way to smuggle drugs. Gleen ended up in prison, and marcello died in '89 from an overdose. However, in 1985 they did manage to hold a number 1 position in the swedish music charts, with a pop hit, 'The Oyster'.
Also check out their recent EPs, Greased Lightning out on Permanent vacation in september, and the latest release on a limited run of 1000, Rvng of the Nrds Vol. 9 available at IGETRVNG.
