Pearl Flash, Complexxion and Black Cherry Cocktail

This Pearl Flash 006 is a cosmic cocktail...

We are hosting band formed by Megane, Gui, Rob and Pete: Black Cherry who are doing quite nicely for themselves at the moment eyeing up new york as the next destination after their show for us on Friday.
I hope to hear some dark synth as Q magazine have described them as “ Synthesizer boogie, with lashings of murder" vocalist Megane Quashie leads the show and we can expect firm electro beats to have the floor boards moving.

We are also lucky enough to joined by Complexxion.
The mysterious creator of a sound that is both 'future' and 'disco-noir' will be letting us hear his varied selection of influences, old and new, along with some unique edits and efx.
To top it all, this 90 min set includes forthcoming new material, which will be released soon.

Complexxion's debut track '(I Need A) Modernaire Lover', is an inspired disco machine version of the previously unreleased Dez Dickerson and Prince classic from the film Purple Rain.
Released on the 'Modernaire EP' alongside remixes by Egyptian Lover, Ed DMX and Hot Persuasion on the Citinite label, which has recently released records by Jimmy Edgar and Sweat.X.

Available now as limited red vinyl and digital release.

Happy Birthday Galileo

In 1609, Galileo first turned his telescope to the heavens and gave birth to modern astronomy.

To commemorate four hundred years of exploring the universe, 2009 is designated the International Year of Astronomy.
NASA's Great Observatories - the Hubble Space Telescope, Spitzer Space Telescope, and Chandra X-ray Observatory - are marking the occasion with the release of a suite of images at over 100 planetariums, museums, nature centers, and schools across the country in conjunction with Galileo's birthday on February 15. The selected sites will unveil a large, 9-square-foot print of the spiral galaxy Messier 101 that combines the optical view of Hubble, the infrared view of Spitzer, and the X-ray view of Chandra into one multiwavelength picture.
