Who is this guy?

Ok, now i'm really confused here. anyone familiar with Fancy? Well there seems to be some confusion exactly over who this guy is. Looking though Fancy's releases there's a number of people he's worked with on various productions, either song writers, vocalists or producers. The name Tess, also comes up quite a few times, infact 'tess' is actually fancy (as you can see from the picture) Also, as you may find there's the name 'Grant Miller'. And here's where it gets confusing..For example, Fancy Sung Colder than ice and it was produced by Anthony Monn, then the next thing you hear is that Grant Miller is also singing this track, But now only it is produced by Tess. But it actually turns out Grant Miller and Fancy/Tess produced for each other? I'm still not exactly sure who is who here, so if anyone knows any better, let us know!
Timerider was another one of Fancy's alias's and produced the fantastic 'cocoon'.Originally recorded in 1985, 'Cocoon' was used at the theme tune to the late 80's UK club music show 'The Hitman & Her', hosted by Pete Waterman (of Stock Aitken Waterman fame) and Michaela Strachan. It also featured in the 1988 movie 'The Fruit Machine'.
In 1988 Timerider released a second song on Lisson records after his artist name 'Timerider'. I only recently discovered this song, which is absolutely fantastic by the way, however it seems to remind me of something i've heard before...check out the video and you'll see what i mean!
Anyway, for you're listening pleasure here's two of Timerider's tracks:

Timerider - Cocoon
Timerider - Timerider

Just for your information, i've included all of Fancy's Discography (along with names) in the comments :)

Telex

This has to be one of my favourite songs of the moment.
Now I know that I say this about a whole bunch of songs at any one time, but this one has had a serious impact on me after various times listening to it whilst being in a state close to where I cant walk or speak properly.
You've probably already heard a whole bunch of stuff from Telex before including, moskow disko, eurovision and twist a st. tropez, etc... Rendez-vous dans l'espace really struck me as to how deep this song actually is. I mean its probably because I've been so intoxicated with whatever, but wow do the lyrics in this song amaze me when Im knocking on the gates. It kinda makes everything make sense.
So, I'd like you guys to join me. Get really messed up, and have a listen to this, hopefully you'll get what i mean, or maybe you won't. Who cares anyway?

HOUSE PARTY....not at ours this time!

Too get you guys all warmed up for next weeks pearl flash at Old Blue Last, we've been invited down to play at 'HOUSE PARTY' at The Railway Tavern (Hackney Central) this Friday (24th)!
Myself and Mr Gazebo will be joining Nasty Mcquaid (who's also our lovely host of the night) and Napalm Def. As you know we're pretty good doing house parties, so for a pleasant change we finally get to play somewhere else other than our HQ! Oh feel free to trash this place like you did to our house last week! hahaha!
In fact i'm so excited about all this that i'm going to share one of our favourite songs, and i'm sure you've all heard us play on repeat for the last month. Its also a great song to play at any house party.

Steel Couture - Syd Mead - Futurist

PEARL FLASH ICON - SYD MEAD

Syd Mead is an industrial designer best known for his vehicle designs in science-fiction films such as Blade RunnerAliens, and Tron. In much of his film work, he is billed as a "visual futurist" or "conceptual designer". The Images above and below are taken from the book SENTINEL II 1987. Working for Ford and US Steel in his early career he drew up visions of the future, later setting up his own company Syd Mead Inc. Mead Went on to shape the future with his radical vision.
If Pearl Flash had an automobile it would definitely be one of Mead's creations.

Disco Nippon

Known also as "the Japanese Jackson Five", Finger 5 were formed in 1967, by the four Yamamoto brothers. These kids had some seriously fresh outfits and dance moves to match. Not only did they succeed in producing their own catchy songs, they also covered classic motown hits, including those of the Jackson 5.

Finger 5 - I Want You Back

Also coming out of Japan In the 1970s was Mikano Yoshida, Here's one of my favourites...
